You can reach Kythnos in just 1 hour 45 minutes from Lavrio port or in 3 hours from Piraeus port. You can find a ship everyday to bring you to the paradise of west Cyclades. The closest airport if you are coming from abroad is Athens. Either from Lavrio or Piraeus come an visit the island of simplicity and hospitality.
Dryopida. This village differs in that its architecture does not resemble the Cycladic one you find elsewhere on the island since the houses have tiled roofs. The residents say this is due to the development of ceramic art in the area.
Chora, the capital of the island and is adorned with typical Cycladic colors. On the hillside you will find whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, windmills, churches and steps waiting to be discovered. Among the white houses, you will find small squares with cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy a drink or a meal in quiet atmosphere since there are no cars inside the village.
